LOCAL ENTRIES

ENTRIES: JUNE 7th, 2024

-Between 8AM - 3PM (we encourage you to call early as spots fill up fast).

  • Mutton Bustin'

  • Wild Pony Racing

  • Junior Barrel Racing (must be 14 years and under as of January 1, 2024)

 

*All local entries must be checked-in at the rodeo office, no later than 45 minutes prior to their events. SRRA committee reserves the right to substitute entries for those who have not check-in on time/no shows.

Friday and Saturday performances will have 8 mutton busters per performance leave the chutes all at once.  The top two* winners from each Friday and Saturday performances will go through to the Finals on Sunday (eight finalists).

 

Winners will be determined by the contestants that hang on the longest.

Since this event is extremely popular the SRRA has had to come up with some strict rules, due to the volume of calls received.

 

*Finals format may change from year to year due to number of entries.

Mutton Bustin' Rules: 

The entry fee for the contestant is $20.00 and includes one accompanying parent or guardian.  Other family members are required to purchase tickets in order to attend the rodeo.  The contestant’s names will be given to the ticket volunteers at the booths ahead of time and the accompanying parent or guardian will be given a wrist band.

 

  • One parent or guardian per contestant must supervise in the chute.  

  • Helmets are mandatory and must be provided by parent or guardian. 

  • As of January 1st, 2024 contestants must be 5 – 6 years old and weigh less than 55lbs.

  • Successful registrants must check-in at the north VIP gate 45 minutes before the event and a waiver form must be signed by a parent or legal guardian.

  • The phone line for local entries opens on the June 7th  between 8:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m.  Applications will not be accepted before this time.  Telephone 403 638 2896. 

  • The first 16 registrants will win places for this event.  The first 8 will ride Friday evening, the second 8 will ride Saturday afternoon.  All contestants should be available to ride on Sunday afternoon in the Finals if they win in their event.  

  • Finalists will have their names listed at the ticket booths and the contestant and one parent or guardian will be allowed free entry and given a wrist band. 

  • Check-in and waiver signing will take place 45 minutes before the event.  All other family members will be required to purchase tickets in order to attend the rodeo. 

  • A maximum of two contestants can be registered on one call. 

  • Substitute riders are not allowed.
